Meet Kennedy Turner, one of our talent consulting experts.
What is your role within DRG?
I am a Talent Consultant working on Executive Search. This means I partner with purpose-driven organizations to find them excellent leaders. In some ways, I get to be a matchmaker between great people and great organizations!
That means moving from getting to know the client and what they are looking for, designing their search process, interviewing candidates, presenting candidates to the clients, and supporting both candidates and clients through the interview process, to ultimately getting them to the altar of a signed employment agreement!
What would you want organizations to know about DRG?
DRG provides a team-based approach to search. While you will have a consultant as your main point of contact, there is a team of people working to find and vet candidates, brainstorming about the search’s unique challenges, and providing support.
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.
Shakespeare was really in his bag with this one! I believe in knowing yourself, trusting yourself, and being confident in the decisions you make. If something doesn’t work out, but you followed your intuition, you feel better than when you didn’t listen to yourself.
What brings you joy in your free time?
I get joy from feeding the people that I care about! I love cooking, hosting, and sharing a good meal with others. I also get joy from hanging out with my 10-month-old nephew, Elijah!
Which book/movie/tv show/podcast etc. is at the top of your list right now?
I’ve been enjoying reading psychological thrillers and listening to podcasts like The Ringer’s 60 Songs to Explain the 90s.
