Meet the Experts: Akshita Sankepally

Great work comes from great people. And we could not do the work we do at DRG without the many experts that contribute to our team.

Meet Akshita Sankepally, one of our organizational consulting experts.

What is your role within DRG?

I’m a Talent Consultant on the Organizational Consulting team. I work closely with organizations on all aspects related to the people (individuals and teams) and organization—this includes organizational design, compensation analysis and strategy, competency models, HR policies and practices, onboarding, 360 assessments, and so many more things!

What would you want organizations to know about DRG?

Our organizational consulting services are really tailored to organizations’ needs—we do not provide “one-size-fits-all” types of services. For example, if an organization has inclusivity and collaboration woven into its ethos, we want to ensure these values are embedded into our work, too. We will work with the organization to create a process that is highly collaborative and inclusive of staff’s needs/perspectives in all stages of the work, from discovery to findings and recommendations.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

“Surround yourself with smart people.” This is incredibly easy given that my teammates are some of the smartest people I’ve ever met. They are so knowledgeable and have taught me so much. I’m a firm believer that you can always learn from others, and I feel like I’m always learning at DRG. This works out great considering “Continuous Learning” is one of our values!

What brings you joy in your free time?

Let’s be real: sleeping brings me so much joy! I need to sleep 9-10 hours a night to be a functioning human and naps on weekends are the literal best. Besides sleeping, eating Asian food (mainly Indian and Thai) and traveling are some of my favorite things! My mom is a chef, so I grew up eating the best Indian food on this planet (which works against my favor when I try to eat at Indian restaurants because they all seem to disappoint me). I could eat Indian and Thai food every single day and be so happy! And I love traveling, experiencing new cultures and places, and eating my way through different countries. But above all else? Hanging out with family, friends, and cute animals (which are all animals).

Which book/movie/tv show/podcast etc. is at the top of your list right now?

ELEMENTAL! Yes, it is an animated movie, and it is one of the best movies in recent times (Asteroid City could never). It’s a movie about an immigrant family and their experiences. I’m an immigrant, so some parts of the movie really resonated with me. And, it’s also incredibly well done and just amazing. Go watch it!!
