Patrick Key

Patrick (he/him) is a Principal at DRG. Over his 25-year career in philanthropy and talent development, Patrick has held leadership positions at organizations dedicated to social impact and organizational effectiveness. He has partnered with over 70 clients in the non-profit, social impact, K-12 education, and higher education sectors to support their comprehensive talent needs.

Patrick has led fundraising programs at five global and domestic non-profit organizations based in New York City, generating over $200 million to support social service and social justice work at organizations like amfAR: The Foundation for AIDS Research, Sesame Workshop, The Robin Hood Foundation, and the United Way of New York City, among others. He is highly effective at developing strategies for non-profit organizations that focus on comprehensive approaches to fundraising plans that support team development and high-impact programs.

Patrick graduated from the University of North Alabama with a Bachelor’s Degree in public relations and history. Shortly after college, Patrick served in the Peace Corps in Zambia, Africa, working in public health. He is very active in local community-based organizations and has been a frequent presenter at national and regional conferences, including the Association of Fundraising Professionals, BRIDGE, California Education Association for Young Children, The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), and many others.

After 25 years in New York City, Patrick, his husband Daniel, and their two rescue dogs, Rothko and Cherry Bacon, recently relocated to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where they enjoy hiking together and exploring the art and restaurant scene. Patrick is also an active creative writer and is currently working on his debut novel. His fiction has been shortlisted for the Sean O’Faoláin Prize and published in Southword magazine.
