ABRAHAM UNGER
Executive Director at the Gender Equity Network
DRG is pleased to announce that Abe Unger has been appointed Executive Director of the Gender Equity Network. Abe has two decades of experience in non-profit management and in Higher Education. For 15 years he served as Director of Urban Programs at Wagner College, where he also received tenure as a professor in Wagner’s Department of Government and Politics. He oversaw the Public Policy and Administration major while managing numerous community partnerships. Prior to joining Wagner College, Abe founded the Mosaic Colony, an Arts Education organization for young people that explored culture and diversity through the Arts. He has published numerous articles and three books examining community engagement and urban economic development.
Abe holds a Bachelor’s of Music degree in classical guitar from the Manhattan School of Music, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in political science from Fordham University. His dissertation, published as a book by Palgrave Macmillan in 2016, assessed the accountability of public private partnerships as agents of social change.
The Gender Equity Network is an inclusive national network of four non-profit organizations whose work includes bringing attention to the under-recognized and under-served needs of boys and men. Its advocacy ranges from mental and physical health to educational achievement to parenting.
