We are pleased to announce that Deborah Monroe has been appointed Head of School of The TASIS School in Dorado (TASIS Dorado). Deborah comes to TASIS Dorado with a long career in independent schools, first as a Spanish language and literature teacher at St. John’s School in Houston and then as a senior administrator at both Viewpoint School and Buckley School in California. She is currently the Associate Head of School at Sierra Canyon School in California.
Deborah graduated from Texas A&M University in 1992 with a B.A. in Sociology and in 1995 with an M.A. in Spanish Literature. In addition, she has completed doctoral coursework in curriculum and instruction at the University of Texas at Austin. She also studied at the University of Guadalajara and the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education in Mexico. A three-time recipient of Fulbright Teaching and Administrative Fellowships to Spain, Mexico, and Argentina, Deborah recently completed the National Association of Independent School’s Fellowship for Aspiring Heads of School.[1]
