Steve Freedman – appointed Head of School at Solomon Schechter Day School of Bergen County

We are pleased to announce that Steve Freedman has been appointed Head of School at the Solomon Schechter Day School of Bergen County. As Head of School he will not only be the Chief Executive Officer, but also the top Educational Officer of the School, and the “Face of Schechter” to the community. As the school’s leader, Freedman will be responsible with providing the school’s overall direction (educational and operational) for the school, its faculty & staff.  He will also ensure the alignment of key activities with the school’s Four Pillars: World-Class Academics, Joyful Judaism, Strong Moral Compass, and Warm Inclusive Community.

Solomon Schechter Day School of Bergen County (“Schechter”) is a nationally accredited premier Jewish day school dedicated to academic excellence in both general and Judaic studies.Schechter is the third Jewish Day School in North America to become an International Baccalaureate (“IB”) school, and the first to integrate the IB framework across its General and Judaic Studies programs. In addition, Schechter is the only Jewish Day School in Bergen County to have earned the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools accreditation. Schechter has an enrollment of over 400 students, and approximately 100 faculty, administration and staff members.
